Has anyone delt with Dragons Breath forge also known as falling productions ? they have some nice looking stuff but they are running $1500 + for a nice 50 inch longsword.

Is this the site? http://www.dragonsbreathforge.com/

They're free to make and charge whatever they want, but I don't see anything there to warrant even half that price. That price is more in line with the finest production swords in the world (and some think even those prices are unreasonably high). You could get an Albion Munich for $1500 and other Albion longswords for less! You could get pretty much ANY A&A longsword for that and have enough $ left to order a custom scabbard. You could get an historically accurate custom piece for less. The best Windlass Steelcrafts swords are more historically plausible than anything I see at that site, come with serviceable scabbards and cost about $1,300 LESS. The Hanwei-Tinker sharps at Kult of Athena come with scabbards and are well under $200.

Personally, if I had a $1500 budget for one sword I'd be on my knees begging E.B. Erickson to accept a commission. Heck, I do have an EBE commission on the way--a one-of-a-kind custom piece from the man I consider to be the finest maker of this particular type--and my budget is FAR under $1500.

I don't mind the occasional "stylized"/historically inaccurate sword if they do it tastefully and feasibly. Those aren't bad looking.

I don't know if it's just the photography but their pommels look to be very small relative to the rest of the hilt. I wonder how well-balanced they are.
