I recently ordered the triple fullered XII.1 from Tried and True. I'm very excited about it. I did an upgrade on the pommel so that I could be cool and put something in it like what Shooter Mike did. Check his sword out if you haven't seen it yet

I also really like Chad's Albion Soverign sword that Chad has on display int he collections forums. I love that sword, and the coin in the pommel is a beautiful touch. http://www.myArmoury.com/chad_swor_alb_sov.html
I don't want to copy either of these guys, but I'd like to make use of the J.1 style pommel.
Any ideas of something I could put in this pommel?
What are some things you've seen done in the past?

Almost anything can go in them, I am mounting some amber in mine, but you could do enamel work, a metal ‘plug’, coat of arms, gemstones etc.

Here is a replica of an ancient Greek coin inside my Sovereign pommel. The head depicts the Thessalian nymph Larissa. I got it from Armart in the Czech Republic. I'm not sure if they are still in business.

Well, great face, right size... She looks a little like Medusa, but its Larissa, the nymph for the spring at that city in Thessaly. Many ancient Greek coins are quite beautiful. You can make a case as to how one could end up on a Medieval pommel - a knight living in one of the Frankish principalities of mainland Greece created after the Fourth Crusade could have come across such an ancient coin.
I don't know where you could find a replica now, as Armart seems to have shut down that side of their website. Of course, you could always buy a real ancient Greek coin 
Roderick, that looks like a Roman emperor's head. I can't quite read the name - is it Maximinus Thrax?
