I was browsing through the Douce Apocalypse illuminations when I saw this very interesting falchion wielded by the figure on the left...

cool find!
that falchion is strange looking. if you zoom in, it looks like it changes into an axe-head at the end which would be totally weird and of course mean that it is all artist fantasy, which this may be anyway but who knows, it is interesting for sure.

I didn't notice that at first! quite cool. Flipping through more pictures there, there is another with a axe-tipped Falchion, the angle on the right.

Quite obviously, weapons are inspired by the fact that bearers are The Four Horsemen - together with horses with lion heads and tails, breathing some poisonous vapors, and generally dark and unsettling colors and look.
That's very interesting piece of art, definitely.
