I have inherited some money from my late father so I was thinking, instead of buying a new car, which will devalue in a very short time and forever, to buy an original medieval or renaissancesword (with fifteenth century as a limit though).

Oakeshott tpology doesn't matter much, I would just like to collect a single original sword, to keep as an object of reverence and study. Conditions even fair, but no deep pitting hat would make impossible to reconstruct the original shape, as an hobby bladesmith I would like it to be as close as possible to its original shape and weight to make a repro for myself.

As the matter is somehow delicate I would be extreely grateful also of private pms, as I would buy from renowned private vendors as well.

Thanks in advance to everybody who would care to respond.

I know that this site has antique swords for auction from time to time. I checked and right now they don't (all they have is a flail) but check back. You never know what you'll find.

I believe that I remember Oakeshott mentioning the sale of a few swords through this vendor in at least one of his books.

Ciao Bruno,
have you tried to contact Mr. Roberto Gotti? He has a good collection. He has good knowledge in the field of swords. If you do not know how to contact, send me a PVT.

PS: I have been long absent. I had a problem. I believe and I hope to be released from the problem. I think I'll be back to write here.
Greetings to all friends myArmoury

Ciao
Maurizio
