Greetings dear fellow forumites,
I've recently seen this exact helmet shape in at least two different makers websites, at first i discarded it as a non-historical form, but after seeing it the other time i'm slightly startitng to think there is more to this and maybe there is/was such a historical piece.
It is basically a bascinet but with quite distinctive visor form.
Oh and here are the pictures:
So, if anyone knows more on this or maybe (hopefully) has even some pictures of such a historical helmet, please reply in this thread,
Sincerely, Boris

Goddam it! That's one fine helm.
I haven't seen it before though. Looks something like an early proto-Armet vistor on a Bascinet. On the other hand those would have come from somewhere, perhaps these?
If one tries to roughly date it from just the helm top shape, the more backward pointing the later it is, it'd seem to be from somewhere around the last quarter of the 14th century, perhaps even turn of the century. The face looks to be later even than that. If it's from an existing piece or illustration I wouldn't be surprised if it's from the early beginning of the 15th century.
