could you tell me the most common phrases or mottoes incised on scottish swords and dirks?

i'm looking for a period covering the beginning of the XVIIth century till the jacobite era,

i would like to use one for my own scottish dirk but it could be also from a sword blade.

thanks for help

One of the most common phrases on Scottish sword blades: "Andrea Ferara". Spelling can vary.

Also, there are a few swords with blades called "Rhyming Blades". These have fairly lengthy statements engraved on them, usually of a Jacobite sentiment. I don't have any of my sources handy right now so I can't quote it, but it's probably a lot longer than you'd want (engraving/stamping adds cost!).
