I've been searching for over an hour now for a picture of a particular sword and my frustration has finally overcome the embarrassment of asking for help.

The most notable feature of the sword in question was that the blade had a slight curve. I believe it was a single-edged blade that curved forward. Otherwise it was a very ordinary-looking sword in the Medieval European style: cruciform hilt, wheel pommel of some flavor.

I believe it was posted on this forum, or rather several similar examples were posted at the same time, and fairly recently. As in, within the last year. Although my sense of the passage of time is not always to be trusted when it pertains to events in my life; in relation to forum posts it is much worse.

Somehow, in the process of migrating computers (the old story), I seem to have lost the link to the original thread and my downloaded copy of the image.

Help me, fellow forum readers! You're my only hope.

I'm not really sure I can nail it here, but check this out:

14th Century English single-edged swords

Funny Nathan that was the one I was thinking of and did a little search but just didn't think of the " magic " search terms to narrow down my unsuccessful search. Wink Laughing Out Loud

Just out of curiosity, what search words did you use to isolate this one or did you just remember the title or subject of the Topic that featured this pic ?

I guess single edged sword might have been some of them ? I tried warped, bent, curved alone and in combination with sword but at time ended up wit 500 + selection ! I guess searches are sort of an art to be able to narrow the results plus having a clue about what words would have been in the original topic or post ?

Well, I do understand that you don't have the time to give us a long and detailed course on how best to do searches. Wink Cool

I typed "Single-edged" into the Search for Keywords area
I selected Search for all terms (redundant in this case as "Single-edged" is only one word)
I selected Search message subjects only

The topic above was the first result of 4.
