Although I own a few pieces from Merc Tailor, I do not own these specific pieces. My suggestion is to contact Allan directly via PM, email or phone. Personal experience has shown me that he will be able to answer all your questions and meet your expectations.

Legality would be all in the sizing. The minimum armor standard for knees in the sca is only a "rigid material" IE a heavy leather equivalent, and those would surely exceed that standard. Provided they are sized correctly to cover the points of your knees while wearing some padding under them they are g2g.

Disclaimer: I have no 1st hand experience with the product in question and am not currently a warranted Marshal in the SCA

All my stuff from Allan is legal. Although it is full plate. Id just add some padding to the backs and I doubt youll have a problem.
His stuff is top notch.

Proudly it stands until the worlds end. The victorious banner of love.
