Are there any first-hand accounts of the crusaders who were fighting the Turkish and Arab warriors in the crusades where they reported of the efficiency of the crucible steel "Damascus steel". I really appreciate any reference to this.
I'm really not an expert on this at all, but I had the impression that there wasn't noticeable differences in the quality of Muslim weapons versus those of the Crusaders at this period. Perhaps someone with greater metallurgical knowledge than me could weigh in.
