So where do I start I am sure this sword I am putting together does not fall in any Oakeshott class.So here is what i have and what i mixed and matched , First I bought a pommel from the Albion mote same that is on the the Poitierts sword ,then a bare blade from KOA a Hanwei Tinker single hand,while I was at KOA I asked if they had any damaged or broken sword i could get a guard off which they did ,a Viliant Bristol guard.So after a bit of doctoring I put all three together and here is what i came up with .Please let me know what you all think before i put a grip on it ,Thanks, JC.

Since the guard is stainless and the pommel is not, they won't age the same. Don't know if that's an issue for you or not.

For me there is a wide range of material and geometric possibilities that I consider "historically plausible." I like the looks of what you have so far. If it were me, I would just continue with it based on gut instinct and value compared to costs invested. I look forward to seeing your finished experiment!

Thanks Guys I like how it looks so far, I put a grip on it a few days ago I wanted to give it an old worn leather look .

I like it! Nice proportions. The grip looks somewhat thin for a one-hander, to me... but then, I seem to have a preference for beefier grips in general, despite my very average-sized hands.
