Hi All,

I am looking for a source for moose antler crowns for making the nuts for crossbows. I don't mind if it is a European or American source and I am just looking for leads.

Doea anybody know?

Many thanks

Tod

http://www.tjaderlader.se/shop/

Unfortunatley in swedish only, but if you navigate to:

Knivmakarutrustning->Knivtillbehör->Horn->

you will find "ÄLGHORN längd ca 4-8 cm"

This is my preferred supplier for leather and leather related tools and supplies, they are quite serious about their business and probably used to detailed requests on diameters and such.

Discalimer: I usually do not buy antler since I tend to stumble over it every now and again anyway friends that hunt, or finding it lying around in the forest.

(I actually have some pieces lying around, but unfortunatley not big enough for a crossbow nut. Otherwise I would have sent you some)

There is nothing quite as sad as a one man conga-line...

These folks are in Montana so shipping may be an issue, but here's a link:

http://www.alaskafurexchange.com/bulkitemsindex.htm

Local warehouse full of horn, antler, ivory, and fur. They do ship internationally. All of it is wild harvested I believe.
