I've been "working" on this for a while, but finally had the time and energy to put it all together the last week since I lost my job.
Blade is the Hanwei/Tinker Viking bare blade, and fittings were custom made by Matt at Baltimore Knife & Sword.

Very nice! I love seeing what people do with bare blades. How is the Hanwei/Tinker blade by the way?

The blade is amazing. Balance and harmonics are very nice, and it just screams VIKING when holding it or looking at it. As for performance, I haven't done any cutting with it yet but, while my brother and I were playing around with it after peening but before wrapping, he half-heartedly chopped into the top of his 4x4 cutting block, and it easily sank in at least an inch, with no visible scratches or nicks in the edge.

Nice DIY job and it looks really good.  
A friend of mine uses one of the Longsword sparring/training Hanwey/Tinker swords and I assume that the heat treat is similar to the sharp. He spars against my Albion and it's holding up well but take a bit more damage than the Albion Liechtemauer: The quality I would estimate is just a bit below the Albions in durability but far far better than most Windlass swords keeping in mind that the Windlass heat treat is really not that bad and even the Windlass are probably harder than most of the period swords.
Since I don't think you will be sparring steel on steel with another sharp the Hanwey/Tinker should be very durable against soft targets. Sparring blade have thicker edges for safety and they also " ding/notch " less than would sharps but they also are more challenged by the steel on steel contact than sharps.
You can easily give up your freedom. You have to fight hard to get it back!

Very nicely done. What about a little twisted wire inbetween what would be the pommel and pommel bar? It looks like you've got enough room there to make it happen. Really nice piece!

Ah! Well done Neil. I like the handle work you did. It came together quite nicely.
FYI. The pommel was a custom order, but it has quickly become a standard piece that we make.
It is always nice working with the Schiff's and I am glad this project turned out nicely.

Thanks Matt, I'm really happy with the way the whole thing came out. I love how the fittings work so organically with the blade...I'm definitely glad we were able to work together on this one.
