I have 12-14 wooden handles (3.75-4") from older Atrim swords that I am looking to have wrapped in leather. Any one know who I might contact for such a job? Thanks!

Do it yourself. It really isnīt that hard. And after finishing all 14, you are really good at it.

The first person who pops into mind is Christian Fletcher, since he has quite a bit of experience with ATrims in particular, and he offers a fairly wide range of options. Plus, you can just send him the grips without the blade, which will make a huge difference in shipping costs.

I would second Felix' suggestion. Leather wrapping a sword handle takes a bit of practice, like anything else, but is really fun to do and saves you money. You could start with simple leather cord wraps, or use low cost chamois and Kiwi leather dye; both of which you can get at any Wal-Mart.

But if you would rather have it done professionally, there are plenty of skilled craftsmen out there. Brian Kunz of DBK Custom Swords does beautiful grip work. Here's the link to his sight: http://www.dbkcustomswords.com/index.html

Hope this helps Happy

Ken,

If you would like to see at least what is involved in wrapping a wood handle with a leather grip I have a bit of a tutorial on my site at.

http://www.yeoldegaffers.com/project_grip_2.asp

They are a bit of work, but very rewarding.
