Has anyone here crested a sugarloaf great helm? I've seen this done in art and effigies, but I've only seen flat-topped great helms crested "in real life". Any special tricks to cresting a pointed helm like a sugarloaf?

I've seen a lot of tourney helms that had spikes on top for attaching a crest. Maybe you could make a detachable spike that screws through a hole in the top?
