Judging from contemporary artwork and reconstruction drawings that i have seen, looks like if the pattern of sword used by the common soldiers of both english and scottish sides was still the late XVth century pattern cross hilt,
which kind of pattern it is more plausible, in your opinion, for such a kind of sword? i can guess a type XVIII with a simple
hilt but may be older model was still in use.
also for how long, do you think, outdated sword could have remained in service in both armies before be replaced with much more modern style ?
