the wulfingas http://www.wulfingas.co.uk/

There is a reenactment group that is based at West Stow, but I can't remember what they are called, its somthing like Stow-a-Kin.

Both groups are very aprochable and knowlageable, as are Ulfhednar and Weorod.

The Chasuari and the Cherusci are earlier than you wanted, but I'll post them anyway:

Britannia and Comitatus are in the time period, but are on the Roman side rather than the Barbarians. Comitatus does do some Germanic stuff as well.

Me too, as google's translation is sadly inadequate. Laughing Out Loud I really like their site, with the exception of one individual's leather helmet with horns in the front.

The leather helmet.

From what i gather its based on a find.

I think its awesome!

its just my lack of skill that stops me re-produceing it.

I'm sure that it is historically accurate, since they really seem to know their stuff. I just meant that it wasn't to my taste.

I would love to see information about the find, if there is any, as far as I know there is no actual remains of any leather helmets recovered from that time period?

There is at least one. It was found in the necropolis of Aldaieta, in the Basque Country. It is a 7th century site. Only its iron framework remains, shaped like an H, if I remember correctly.
