These are some crazy times and I thought it would be nice if folks could have an Odin cutting sword at a budget price. The Basic "Slice" sword in my tired old website on swords page II will start at $350 with straight guard and wheel pommel, leather wrapped grip and hex section 5160H steel blades with distal taper and historical weight and balance, heat treated right here and has peened mount. A breakdown version is alittle more. The " Slice 3-D" will start at $450 due to fuller and forged bowtie guard. Grip styles and size will determine final price. The styles will also include Spatha, Gladius, Saber and many other blade types. Keep in mind the website I refer you to is 12 years:) They will be started in this coming Febuary/March and if ordered now you can get in on the fun. They are all made by me and parts are all hand ground from solid metal, not cast. Of course I'll still be taking custom orders, but if a basic Odin cutter is what the doctor ordfered, please take advantage of this offer. Oh and free shipping in the continental US.

Wow this sounds great! How does this last? Is it a special or something more permanent?

Here is the basic Slice sword from John's website. When I first got into swords over 4 years ago that sword was priced starting at $299.99 and I thought that was a great deal back then. Now starting at $350.00 is a great chance for people to own an outstanding sword at a great price!

Here's a link to the sword labeled "Slice 3D". It will also allow people to navigate John's website and see other examples of his work.
I have had John make me a custom sword in the past and I can say he's one of the few people I would buy a sword from. My sword felt as good in the hand as it looked and that's saying a lot.

Well, I e-mailed John and placed an order! I've had a little sword project in mind for a few years and this is a perfect opportunity to get it made. I look forward to hearing if others commission projects and then to seeing those swords when they are completed. Mine is going to be a basic short sword that I've wanted since getting into this hobby almost 5 years ago.

Any plans to include longswords in this? How about blunt trainers?

John will make all kinds of swords for ya... and you might be surprised at the price. If you keep it simple, no or little flare, etching or whatnot, an Odinblade can be VERY affordable. Just send him and e-mail and ask.
I'm expecting my first Odinblade very soon...
