We all know that the economy is rotten right now, and times are tough for both collectors and smiths and myArmoury.
So I am offering a solution. A chance for me to sell a piece (more if this first one goes well) and a chance for you to pick up a piece at a price you are happy with and support your local forum.
Here's how it works.
First,
Click on the image below and go to the gallery page for this piece.
Second,
Email or PM me the price you ARE willing to pay for it right now, doesn't matter how low, so please bid anyway even if you would only want it for $5.00 as I want to know what the market IS now. My email is:

The person with the highest price gets it for that (+shipping). Only say what you actually want to pay for is and it could be your's for that. I will post the winner and the price it went for next weekend and 5% of the price will go to keeping myArmoury online.

This is an interesting idea and that is a really beautiful blade.
I did put in an offer but what I can afford is less than what I think the knife is worth so I wouldn't feel to bad at loosing.

For me its the same as above, i did not enter as the blade is not so much my point of interest.

I teased Ben when this piece was first finished, that he could call it a tanto if he wished, but it looks like a seax to me....

One suggestions would be for you to state at the beginning of another of these auctions that the anonymity of the buyer would be respected but that the amount would be given at the end to be fair to all those who put in a bid ?
This would be "UP-Front " conditions for the nest time(s): This if you think it would be something you would prefer ? Personally I think giving out the final price to be better P.R. for business purposes as not knowing the final price is sort of a " buzz kill " for those who have bid and the rest of us who are just curious !
Now, respecting the wishes of this client is necessary since it seems to have been a condition of the client for buying the piece. On the other hand you are kindly deferring to his wishes but in a way the fact that the final price would be " undisclosed or disclosed " was not explicitly stated as part of the conditions of the sale for the auction i.e. ambiguous situation ???
Anonymity seems like less of an issue as this should in any case be the choice of the buyer, the price being given publicly is something that you should keep control of as it's a marketing issue that may affect how appealing these auctions seem to future clients. i.e. did the client really have the right to impose the non-disclosure of the price to you ? You certainly have the right to agree to not disclose if it's what you wish to do in this case, but consider if you wish to disclose in the future.  
Oh, I don't personally care that much about knowing the price, I just mention the above because you might wish to consider your options in the future and I hope my take on things are useful to you.
You can easily give up your freedom. You have to fight hard to get it back!

Thanks for the input.
I intended to post the information about the sale but was asked not to by the buyer after the auction closed.
The other auction closed as well and I posted the price as soon as I got the confirmation from the buyer.
The reasons the buyer gave for not having the information disclosed were reasonable and I wanted to respect their wishes.
I do apologize for not posting the price.
I will post the final price on the next one (don't for get to bid on the filipino bolo)
