Ronald Lauder is the son of Estée Lauder (founder of the cosmetics company) and is one of today's most prolific private collectors of art and armour.
I was doing some research on the subject a few months back and a recent forum topic topic made me think of the subject again.
Please have a look at the following article. I think you'll enjoy it.

Yes that would be interesting and I'm sure he must have access to curators, historians and other collectors and might have some influence to let some of our more scholarly members and makers have introductions to people having the " keys" to those dusty storage rooms with arms and armour usually never seen by the public ?
As an example: Contacts that would give more access to someone of the level of Peter Johnsson, or Craig Johnson at A & A to be able to document the statistics on swords almost nobody knows about ?
Well, getting a little ahead of just his being aware that " myArmoury " exists ( if he doesn't already know ? ) and wanting to join in on discussions ! Also, it wouldn't be " polite " to ask the guy to do us favours until and if he wants to.
In any case I'm sure he has a lot of knowledge that we would be very happy to listen to.
You can easily give up your freedom. You have to fight hard to get it back!
