This post might have something to do with being home sick, with nothing better to do than avoid filling out tax forms:
I suspect that many of us are somewhat awed and intimidated by the incredible high-end / custom collections (and enviable photography skills) that one often sees on myArmoury. Perhaps to inspire other ordinary mortals to show their collections, here are the functional swords in my current collection of arms and armor. Nothing too fancy, but I love most of 'em just the same!
Anyone else wanna try?

I'll throw some of my collection in. We budget collectors have to learn not to be so shy I suppose. Sometimes I'll see a relatively "cheap" weapon and get notsalgic because I had owned it when I started collecting.

"Budget collection"? I admire your budget, given that an Albion Valkyrja was priced at $1300+ a pop (when you could still get them of course)!

OK the Valkyrja does stand out, but there's not another thing in there that cost me more than $120. It's nice to have an excellent anchor like an Albion, then fill out the rest of the collection with pieces that are nice but not wallet busters.
[edit] the spear is a particular favorite of mine, it cost me less than $30!

I officially started my collection on Wednesday when my first training sword arrived by parcelforce. And just to prove how ignorant I am, I didn't realise it was a "proper" Hutton until my instructor started offering to buy it on Wednesday evening!
I'm thinking of calling it "Alfie". Is it ok to name swords?

My collection of 'good' swords is rather small and relatively cheap at the moment. It's also very ecclectic - I don't particularly collect pieces that are from a certain period, part of the world, or are historicaly accurate. All I insist on is that they can do the job they were designed for and look visually appealing to me personally.

These are some nice shots, and are probably a well needed boost to my cheap ego.
Hey, Emmet, do you have any specs on the second furthest from the right? Where you got it, how much it cost, its length? I kind of like the look of it, and it looks well made, as well.

It is indeed the Hanwei Sir William Marshall, bought here from my forum friend David Sutton. Historically speaking it has nothing to do with William Marshall but is a very nice medieval sword nonetheless.
