The Baron has arrived
Hey folks,
I found a sword-sized box on the porch waiting for me when I got home today. It's Albion's Next Gen Baron.

I haven't played with it much, but I really dig it. I've only handled it enough to take it out of the box and move it around on the coffee table for photos, but the handling is great. It handles much better than the Del Tin 2142 it replaced. It feels much lighter than the DT, even though they are within an ounce of each other in weight. I'm looking forward to attacking some pool noodles with it, though I should probably wait until the thunderstorms pass......

I'll post more pics once I have time to get good lighting.

Congrats on a fine looking sword Chad.

This one will make a nice companion for my Big Johnsson. Your pics have me excited.

That's a pretty big lightning rod, so be sure the thunder is way far away before you take it outside.

Hey Patrick,

You used Big Johnsson and excited in the same sentence.

Go figure :D

I can't wait to get mine!!!

How long did you have to wait? Did they pack it pretty safe? Can you tell I'm itching to get my hands on one? :D

Scott,

I ordered it at the Bladeshow in Atlanta, a little over a week ago. Pretty quick.... :)

From what I gather, they pack their stuff in custom-made boxes (fit to each sword). The sword was suspended in foam blocks (the sword's blade passes through them), with an additional block at each end. You would have to work at it to damage things.

If you buy one, you won't regret it.

I ordered mine on Monday. And I couldn't help looking for the package that afternoon! :D

. . . and you followed it up with, "It will grow on you even more with time"!
Sheesh!

:D

Chad, that's an awesome looking sword! I feel something remarkably like envy.. . .
Congratulations!
Here are some more pics.

Thanks for posting those pics. The Baron is awesome. No matter where you look on the next gens you can't find any imperfections. Especially the peen and the blade/guard fit. I like that very much. Build quality and precision is very important to me.
Very nice pics. The lines are very clean, as are the surfaces. I've noticed the level of quality is about the same across the NG line with a few small exceptions.
