Finding information about northern European sword types during the migration era is not especially difficult, particularly concerning the double edged straight sword. Seeing Albion's Beserkr has made me wonder of the less replicated blades of the era. I have read a little of Byzantine weaponry, but finding accurate pictures and photos is fairly difficult. What other blade designs were contemporary to the claasic "viking sword"? What did the Arabs or Eastern Europeans or Russians or Chinese etc of the era wield?

There is a Magyar saber believed to have been owned by Charlemagne. I has a steeply curved grip with a shallow curved, double clipped spine.

Yeah, I've seen that one in Swords and Hilt Weapons. It's very nice, huh?

This is the one right?
Not really the most expected sword style for the man thought of as the first knight, but it's a beautiful sword nonetheless.
