I saw one like this once before. It was reported to be an 18th century Prussian sword. I don't know how accurate that categorization is, but it seems to fit with the sword's features.

I agree with Chris. It looks a lot like the Prussian Model 1735 Dragoon sword.

Nothing to do with a schiavona, neither for the shape of the hilt or for materials. Eagle is not a venetian motif, Venice had a lion head.

i spend a lot time on the net but i cant find any sword like this 1 with eagle head....or some prussian model like this....on the first look i was thinking its schiavona.....u peoples are specialists for this...so my help is in your hadns

If you register at www.oldswords.com and search the database for Prussian Model 1735 you will be able to view a similar example. Additionally, this model is illustrated in Richard Bezdek's German Swords and Sword Makers.
