Greetings,
I'm looking for a good dagger to match the Albion 13th Century Knightly Sword, in both fit and fashion. I looked through the reviews, but didn't find anything to my liking. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
-Jacob

You can find many good daggers over at Arms and Armor - http://www.arms-n-armor.com/daggers.html - offhand, I'd say the Crusader Dagger is a good match for your sword. If you want to take a step down in quality and price, try www.museumreplicas.com -- You'll find some OK daggers there.

Are there many depictions of 13th century knights wearing daggers intended to accompany a sword? |
I have been doing some basic research and it is really hard to find either extant daggers, archaeological finds or pictorial references. If I remeber correctly I have found one find of a dagger dated to 12th century that has a disc pommel. Unfortunaley it has no reference for size.
Daggers seem to appear on knights later, incidentally alongside plate armour. Most likley to accompany the knights swordbelt woul be an eating knife. Not bad either come to think of it
There is nothing quite as sad as a one man conga-line...
