Hey,
I know this is really off topic, but is anyone else having trouble logging in to the site? A black screen says my account has been suspended because the host is not there, or something. It is rather odd.

I get the same! I wonder if the site has been hacked or something?

Looks like they didn't pay the bills, or someone posted illegal material and was caught.

Um, those might not be the most charitable conclusions to put at the top of the list, eh? Might be safer to assume "technical difficulties" until more facts surface. You could probably email one of the moderators, though I expect they are already getting a LOT of emails right now, all variations on "Hey, what's up with RAT?"

I'm with Matthew. Speculation gets you nowhere. Nowhere. It has the potential to harm or embarrass people.

With that said: Why do it?

I think I'll go with Matthew's answer as well. Unfortunately, I was hoping to use the shield making discussion that Chris posted. I had not yet printed it out! This comes as a real setback to me. I had just joined the forum and had posted a grand total of three things, the first was talking about "crest droop" for Corinthian helmets, the second was asking if anyone knew a good place to get a new Corinthian helmet, preferably made out of brass, and costing under $200, and the third was complimenting their shield designs, and thanking them for all the informative discussions. Couldn't this have happened AFTER I printed out the shield info?

Well, at least I can get back in. Unfortunately, it now says it is down for maintenance. When am I going to be able to print that shield discussion out? I can't continue otherwise! Just my luck. :P

Dang! It's happening again! It said before that it was down for some maintenance, but know it goes to a white page with a line of text reading, "message_die() was called multiple times. This isn't supposed to happen. Was message_die() used in page_tail.php?" I have to ask the same question, anyone know why this is happening?

"anyone know why this is happening?"

They're having technical problems. Let them sort it out.
