I'm on lvl 13 by tonight. When you get to higher level are the weapons improving as well or is the great axe 42 hit ponts, the most. Or great sword? Armor is also not getting above 20 something isn't it?

My black armor is something like +26 (chest) +14 (legs). With my heavy charger horse and my couched lance, I'm a real tank.
Poor bandits on horses can't even hit me anymore with their falchions.

Can't remember the version, but I bought it when it was around $9.00 and I'm still playing it, mods mostly.
The weapons are the weapons, but you get better with them.
I have had several characters who can do 175 points of damage with a longsword and you don't wanna know what they can do with a lance. The funny thing is IMHO when they get that high is just when the damage starts being representative of reality (Sans the piercing plate stuff).
That said I do wish they would implement a better damage system.
I'd love to see a M&B that had cuts that disable limbs accurately ect.
My two most reccomended mods:
The Hundred Years Wars
The Last Days
The Last Days is a Tolkein mod that has some very cool strategic aspects, I play it over and over.

This sounds great! Thanks for info.
I intend to level up playing straight game and then go and start with the mods.
It is definitely a very, very addictive game.
I just got rid of all my gaming addictions, repaired relationship with my wife and now I got this one.
My life will get miserable again....
Unfortunately can't do much about it!

The Hundred years war mod, has something wrong it doesn´t start in my 0.808, I am using the live by the sword mod now, which is still in the works, but has some nice features and will be in a greater variety covering different medieval times from 1250 to 1450 in 4 mod add ons.

Just got to lvl 17 and still going strong.
I took this guy fom the tavern in the village where game starts.
Gave him some equipment and now I try to get him on higher lvl.
That works ony I can not give him his earned weapon points. there comes no plus beside weapon.
Is there a reason to it?
And one more question. I joined one of the groups of people. Now the others hate my guts.
Is there a way to go to back to neutrality? Or switch the sides?

You can sneek into one of the enemy towns and then go to the castle and speak with the lord and he will ask you to pay a certain amount to get your rep back.

Sounds like he is at the maximum weapons skill his physical attributes will allow. Make sure your weapons master skill is high enough or you wont be able to raise his individual weapons skills. If you cannot raise your weapons master skill then you need to raise your strength or agility.

You can go to the castle of an enemy town and pay a fine to the lord of the castle to regain nuetrality.

Don't bother. The skill points are worth too much to spend on Weapon's master. Just kill a LOT of people with the weapon type, and it will shoot up like lighting without you spending points on weapon master.

The newer versions are quite impressive, they've vastly expanded the gameworld and added a lot of villages and castles, and theres a whole new side in raiding villages or capturing their controlling town or castle for owning as your own, with some minor land management (mostly just paying and waiting for construction of things to add to villages at the moment, or helping re-supply them with cattle and grain or clearing out bandit infestations if they get raided too much (forgetting your lordly duties to guard them perhaps...).
Kind of turning from a pure combat game to a sort of medieval-sim-lord.

I'm still playing M&B 0.808, not because I have anything against the 0.90x series, it's just that it is still unstable. I have already gone to the trouble of creating a 0.901 character, building him up to level 6, then another version is released! I'm waiting for a stable version first.
Saying that I've gone about as far as I can with M&B 0.808. I've got a level 32 character, 260,000 denars, captured both castles, got 60 followers all Swadian knights and crossbowmen (and large garrisons of 100+ in each castle) and can take on parties of "Dark Knights" without getting defeated. There's nothing left to do really.

It's a wonder that nobody has mentioned anything about Mount & Blade having been finalized and published via Paradox Interactive...
