I'm glad to announce that Gladius the scholarly journal on Ancient and Medieval Armour (Armor for you!) and Weapons is now available online in pdf format... and it's free Big Grin

http://gladius.revistas.csic.es/index.php/gladius/issue/archive

All volumes from 1999-2007 are now available. In all, over 2.800 pages on Renaissance swords, Roman Artillery, Bullet dents in Renaissance armour, steel metallurgy, Achaemenid cavalry, Iberian falcatas, early Arab swords and so on...

In due time we'll add volumes I to XVIII... a lot of scanning and OCR, though...

Gladius publishes annually articles in Spanish, English and French. I'm sure you'll find topics interesting, refreshing and stimulating. And even worthwhile trying to decipher Spanish, you proud Anglo-Saxons! Laughing Out Loud

So come and have a look at Summaries and Abstracts... you'll enjoy!

On Gladius check:

Notes for contributors in English:

And for the Monographs series (Gladius supplementary series), check :

Alas and alack, I'll have to content myself with looking at the pictures. Curse my monolingual hide....

Don't despair! About 25% of all Gladius papers are in English. Check the different volumes!

I noticed that some random articles were in English. I'll be sure to go through the Spanish articles just for images if nothing else; many of the line drawings are excellent and provide a lot of information whether ich spreche oder nicht.
