I was thinking of purchasing a sallet helm from museum replicas, and I was wondering if it was of good quality?

I plan on using it for fighting. I occasionally let ppl from my live steel groups glance there swords off my helm (makes for a good show).

I believe MRL's is just 18 guage. Not the best for fighting, and as I understand in most groups you need at least 14 guage. I have bought a 14 guage GDFB helm from Medieval Ware and am pleased with it.

Here is the home page of the maker.

I am selling my Deepeeka visored Italian Sallet for $100 + postage. Very authentic and one of their newer products. It has no lining. I do Roman and always use Deepeeka helmets for fighting. With the exception of suffering from Trumatic Brain Injury, the helmets have always served me well.
