Its a goose or supposed to be. Huss means goose in Czech. Jan Huss was the founder of the hussite movement and was burned at the stake. So it became a simble of the hussites. Thanks I like it too. Not sure if it looks to neo-classical with the crown of thorns.

Haven't had too much trouble with the mail. It grabs the odd hair every now and then. Inspiration is Hussite motto and motifes.

Now that you mention it, it does look more like a goose. I wasn't too sure about the crown of thorns either but it's still very cool. What type of paint did you use?

It is not accurate. It is some different but for Husits comprehensible.
Duck is attribute for Jan Hus (like John Duck) and celebrations goblet is symbol for serve christus blood in celebrbration for people in church. It was front diffenties for Husits teaching.

Mark,
That looks great. Nicely done.
I have become very interested in the Reformation over the past several years and did a study on Jan Huss about a year ago. I would be interested in knowing what mottos you used and what they mean.

Its a deep kettle helm I made from a CD helmet bowl and a 53 turtle helmet with some really cool camo on it. he he. Not the greatest, but will do until I get a real one made.

i like it. i really do. i was wondering cause the bowl was so deep. i couldn't figure out what too helmets went together. only just now i see the line of the 2 put together. at first glance i thought it was all 1 piece. really cleverly done with the paint scheme to hide that, bravo!

Chuck look in the yahoo group gear folder there is a picture of it before painting. The turtle helmet was really hard to cut, I had to use a dremel. I think it was more trouble than it was worth, but its been kicking around the basment for 15yrs.

Thanks Sean, I think it came out well. But my brother in law, Mathew Amt, thought of it first. I just copied it.
