There are some very beautiful, albiet ornate pictures of swords from "Arms and Armor, A Pictorial Archive from nineteenth century sources"

I was wondering where they find the originals that are sketched? I was hoping to find out more about this beautiful two-hander from the 16th century on page 92 of the book. I would love to have this replicated...

Thank-you, that does look very similar...

Chris-

The drawings in that book are mostly 19th century in origin. Some are accurate. Others are grossly inaccurate. Others fall in between. The book isn't really a good source for historical study and probably isn't intended to be so.

Having said that, the particular sword illustration that you are asking about is based on actual swords. There are published examples of such swords.
