Greetings Forumites!

I'm curious how many of us will be attending the Bristol Renaissance Faire on the Illinois/Wisconsin border above Chicago? I (and my wife) are planning on being there on opening weekend, July 5th & 6th, and will of course be visiting the Arms & Armor booth. I'd love to meet as many of my fellow Forumites there as possible (Bob Burns, this means you), to talk about, well, arms and armor, plus our many other related interests.

I've asked Craig Johnson if he will attend, so provided he does, it would be a great opportunity for those of us in the region to chat with him about A & A's wares. Hope to get to meet as many of you all as possible!

Oh, BTW, Bristol does allow patrons to enter armed (blades only), but all blades must be tied into their sheaths to be permitted inside the Faire (so they cannot be drawn).

I'll be there. And most weekends after first. I'm the second in command down at the military encampment so feel free to pop down after your visit at the A&A booth!

My wife and I are thinking of going with some reenactor friends from the Apple River Fort State Historic Site in Elizabeth, IL. However, we will be at the fort , with the same friends, on the weekend of the 4th.

Bristol had a great opening weekend, and it was wonderful to get to meet you, Chris. The Queen's Miltia is a fine display, and it was a treat to get to talk to you about the weaponry. The Faire continues for eight more weekends, plus Labor Day, so I hope to visit at least once more! Hope to meet some more Forumites at Bristol!

I wish I could have made it this weekend since the weather was great. It looks like I will be there the 16th of August with my wife. I definitely plan on stopping by and I hope to talk with you Chris as well as meet any other forumites who might be up there that day.

I wasn't able to go this year do to work and school, but last year I was a guest cast member in the queens court. I been to some other faires, but after Bristol, they just leave me disapointed. The attention to historical accuracy and the effort that everyone gives makes it something special. Hopefully next year I'll be able to get a weekend off...

I made it out. Took the fiancée along and got to dress her up in armour thanks to a group whose name slips my mind. I got some cool photos that I should post sometime of the weapons demonstration where they mutilated cantaloupes with sword, spear and early firearm.

Yep, that would be my group! A pleasure to have you down! We're doing a couple of other events in the next couple weeks, so those of you that are in the Manitowoc WI area swing by the St. Francis Fest and those of you in Illinois, come out to the Stronghold Olde English Faire!
