I recently came into posession of a saber that had been in my grandfather's garage for time out of mind. I've looked online in other areas, and have been unable to identify this blade, and I was hoping to find some help here.....

I've attached a couple pix, and I do have more if they are needed.

Well, I tried to include the pix, but I guess they're too big, so I've added links....

Thanks for any help you can provide,

T.J.

T.J.,
Do you have any full picture of your sword?

I believe it is an Austrian Model 1861 cavalry sword. I would guess that the maker is Eduard Jung of Vienna ,Austria. Hopefully someone better versed in Austrian swords can confirm or deny this! Happy

I suggest registering at www.oldswords.com (it is free) and doing a search for Austrian Model 1861 cavalry swords. There are many exact matches.

Thanks, I think I'll do that.

Thanks for the prompt response, and pointing me in that direction.
