I'm trying to make up my mind on my next Albion (Bayeux, Reeve or Ritter). Does anyone own a Ritter with blued furniture? If so could you post a pic or two?

Thanks in advance,

Nathan

Hi Nathan,

why would you want to blue the furniture on these swords though it is an option I think that keeping them bright would be the safer bet if authenticity is the aim. Certain later sword's furniture 16th c. had treated furniture and portions of their blades. It may be possible that earlier blades were so but I don't believe there is any evidence of this.

Just a question

Well, I wasn't around back then so I can't say if they were blued or not. Nevertheless I like the look of it on my Kingmaker. Now if I did the Bayeux I would have the hilt antiqued. The sword that inspired the Ritter is dark do to age I suppose but I like the way it looks. Also, I like to vary the look of my swords since they are all hanging in the same room.
