This question has actually been nagging at me for a long time. I have searched high and low for hours and hours to no avail. Maybe I am looking in the wrong area but I have never found a company or dealer that sells/makes modern replicas of a yataghan style sword.
I love the style of the yataghan quite a lot, I just find the blade curve and overall shape elegant (I'm weird, leave me alone) and I would love if there were functional replicas available.
The only option I have seen is going custom for one, which isn't viable for me. I'm turning 18 this summer and have always loved sword and I am slowly building a collections that started with a dozen SLO's and I know have a few better items (and am thinking about the CS Shamshir)
So I guess I am hoping against hope that any of you may have heard of anything where a yataghan or some variant has been sold for less than 1000$
I mean come on, who wouldn't want a brand spankin' new yataghan that you can handle and do some cutting with if you so choose?

So the only solution in such cases is to make it yourself For the time being I have too many other projects, so it's not very likely I'll be making a yataghan within the next few years (but you never know). One thing I've been wondering though is how the usually silver decoration on the base of the blade and around the hilt is attached/constructed. Does anyone by any chance have pictures of a yataghan without the hilt plates, showing what's underneath?
