Thanks Mac,

That is probably my favourite from all the shots I've seen of his Viking swords (and he's made alot of beauties).

Hi Joe

The good news ..... :-)
I talked with Vince last night and he told me that this Viking will indeed be on his table, at the Atlanta show !

The bad news .....
It's already spoken for :-(

So do check it out ( I'm hoping I'll be in attendence, too ? .... we shall see :-)

Vince mentioned the grip is a little longer on this one ( a tad over 4 " inches) than his usual Vikings, as that is what the customer requested ( guess he's a big tall laddie ) ! The blade is in the normal Viking range, though, at 29" inches approx. !

He mentioned it cut nice, too !

WOW!! Tis truely beautifull.

If only I had the money for something like that right now.

I'm almost afraid to ask but how much does one of Vince's masterpieces sell for?

Can anyone give any more info on the hiltwork of this sword? I am thinking the fittings (pommel and cross) are blued steel, but cannot be certan from the photos. The pommel also shows some decoration-- bronze? I am also curious about the wire wrap (if that is, in fact, what it is).

Again, "stunning" is the only word that comes to mind. Oh, and "jealous", as well Laughing Out Loud

Cheers,

David

Hi David

Yes, Vinces work always leaves me stunned ..... you are not alone here *g*

The Viking grip is indeed wire-wrapped, and I would say that the fittings are blued !
He also inset wire in the lobes of the pommel .....

If I talk with him this weekend I'll ask for some details on this one !

Meanwhile .... here are two other killer Vikings by Vince ! Mac

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for the info-- I look forward to hearing more after you see him. Is the wire copper, do you think?

Thanks also for the new photos-- I particularly like the second one. I can appreciate why his work is so well-loved.
