I took my new Fujifilm S3000 digital camera out for a spin today, and snapped some photos of my Darkwood rapier, received from Scott Wilson last month. Also photographed is the dagger that Scott made en suite with the rapier.
Enjoy!

Those are nice. I really like the cord wrapped grips.

Good looking piece that one.

That's a really nice sword
Can I ask how much you paid for it?
One of these days I'm going to get a decent rapier.

Hi Geoff,
How do you like the carved grip? BTW, the set looks great. Have you got much use of them so far?
When I decided I wanted to replace the wood grip that Scott made for my pappenheimer, I wanted to go for something more elaborate. I came across this dagger on his site and I just had to have one like that.
I wanted to add a bit more eye appeal too it, hence the brass turks heads. (the inspiration came from this dagger)

my pappenheimer w/grip similar to Geoff's.

Hi Stephen,
In fact, when Scott told me that he'd made the grips with the chevronny wire-wrap, I knew that it would look good, but I wasn't sure how it would feel when in the hand. When I got the sword, and held it, the chevronny pattern really seemed to mold itself into the folds of my hand. I really like it.
I haven't gotten much use out of the rapier yet, aside from a little bit of drilling with it. And I haven't used the dagger at all, yet. I probably won't for a while, too, until I get better at using the rapier alone.

Those are beautiful! Do you know how many layers the grip is made of and what they are?
