I've just watched a rather good programme about William Marshall on BBC 2.
Quite a good programme actually. No great insights or revelations, but I found out a lot about Marshal who was a very interesting guy, and I also got to see Toby Capwell and Juliet Barker in the flesh.
For those of you who missed it (and live in the UK), you should be able to catch it on the BBC iplayer:

I found it ok, a few things I could nit pick at, but not too bad. It did remind me that I need to visit the Wallace collection as soon as I can!
I did like the joust training where he got hit whilst wearing plate. It also showed how hard it was for them to deliver a clean cut with a sword from a horse, many of them hit with the flat!
One thing that did amaze me was the size of the melee area. 9 sq/km!!
Melchett - "In short, a German spy is giving away every one of our battle plans."
Cpt. Darling - "You look surprised, Blackadder."
Edmund - "I cerainly am, sir. I didn't realise we had any battle plans."
