Not long ago I had got a nice piece - 15.th century axe with 4 marks - two is in shield shape with cross, rest of next one is a some cross and the last is obscure.
It is 27 cm long, width of edge is 17 cm and comes from Central Europe.

Looks a little like a simplified aegishjalmur (which is a germanic symbol), which might be appropriate for a bearded axe like that. Search the word on google images and you'll see plenty with eight branches and a few with four, like that mark.
