I am new in this Forum. I looked at him as I was googling for a war manual (or something else) about the use of the shield, and more acurately, about the use of the heater shield.
I have not seen a topic about the use of the weapons himself, and I think it would also be an interesting one, to share what we know about that.
I hope you all find this interesting, and we all can learn something new... links, posts... Anything you want.
Sorry if my english is mot the best... It is not my born language.

Unfortunately, there are no known writings dealing with the exact subject you have asked about. There are works about the use of small hand-held bucklers, and there are a few hints from Renaissance authors about the use of large and medium size shields. Some hints on the use of the smallish Scottish targe also exist, still later than the Italian Renaissance authors. No book about the use of a heater, or other earlier shield type, is known to exist.
Probably the most useful modern work on the subject is two papers written by Stephen Hand, published in volumes named Spada and Spada II, which use graphic evidence and experimental archeology/hopology to deduce how larger shields might have been used.
