Greetings readers. I have a question about the display of swords and daggers. My collection of these items is starting to expand. When spending hard earned money on such items I don't really want to hide them away in a box under the bed or in a closet. They need to be displayed for all to enjoy. I'm curious if any of you fine folks out there have any ideas, pictures, etc. of displays that you may use or find appealing. The swords and daggers I wish to display are not fantasy so some of the ones available on the internet just don't seem to be my taste. I have found many simple square or oval plaques, sanded, stained, and screwed in some "L" shaped screws. This has worked fairly well but it just doesn't seem to fit the bill. Is it best to hang a sword by the guard, or possibly length wise by the grip and blade, or upside down with the tip towards the ceiling? I have heard by many people that storing a sword in a leather scabbard is not ideal as it will cause the blade to rust. What about displaying it in a wooden core scabbard? Help. Thanks.

Troy,
The topic of displaying one's collection has come up numerous times here before, with people (myself included) sharing how they display things. Have you used the forum's Search function to find info on this topic?

Chad,
I have looked at past forums but I guess I was wondering if there have been any new ideas or anything from new members. You just never can tell. Some of the past forums on the subject were quite entertaining though.
