Here is an excellent new article by my comrade Mike Cartier Arrow

Parts of the Fight in Meyer
http://arma-sfl.com/meyer_parts.cfm

This interpretive article is a first of its kind -- an analysis of Meyer's parts of the fight that breaks away from the hegemony of range-specific purview of fencing and offers instead a dynamic phasic understanding of fencing.

Thank you for posting that contribution!

I really liked the physiological insight of Meyer's descriptions. The three stages really help me to frame my presence of mind needed during the fight, so that confusion won't set in when fatigued or injured. Also, I visited your excellent ARMA website in florida and watched the Dussak sparring video May 2006. Since you were using messers, (your techniques were excellent by the way) you directly answered my question regarding Kriegsmesser use because the tactics you employed were all single edged, executed from the basic guards. The only modification for me would be two hands on the bigger sword.

Thank you again,
