My local Barnes and Noble bookstore had about half-a-dozen copies of Mark Rector's translation remaindered. In hardcover.
I am very, very, happy.
Those of you with a Barnes and Noble nearby may want to call and see if your store is liquidating copies as well.
Note: (Nathan, Chad, if you want, I'd be more than willing to create a Marketplace post for this next bit, but I think Off-topic is more likely to get people's attention for this one, especially since it's a limited-time thing. Additionally, we've had similar discussions here before, in regards to the Beowulf and Grendel DVD.)
I'd also be willing to discuss purchase/shipping arrangements for.the remaining five or so copies of the book that my store has, if anyone can't find one at their local store. Mind you, there will be a slight surchage for the service ($5) in addition to purchase/shipping costs, but since Amazon's used copies start at $15 in paperback without the shipping charges factored in, and the book itself is now out of print...
Here's the Amazon link just to be absolutely clear which text we're discussing:
http://www.amazon.com/Medieval-Combat-Fifteen...amp;sr=1-1
Note that we'll need to make arrangements QUICKLY if you'd like me to try and get hold of a copy for you. My bookstore has been known to suddenly and drastically move stock, or have it bought up. I've seen multiple copies of various books disappear within the space of a day or two. I doubt that will happen here, but it's worth warning you. I will make no guarantees regarding this offer.
Oh, East of sands and sunlit gulf, your blood is thin, your gods are few;
You could not break the Northern wolf and now the wolf has turned on you.
The fires that light the coasts of Spain fling shadows on the Eastern strand.
Master, your slave has come again with torch and axe in his right hand!

The Baton Rouge Barnes and Noble bookstore has about 15-20 copies last time I was in there...

Cool. Nice to know it's not just my store.
Although it probably means I won't be making any money...

The Irvine location had about 7 copies. I believe the price was just under $8 US.

It's also available on-line for $7.00, plus about $4.00 shipping.
Thanks for pointing them out. I wouldn't have thought to check there.
