Hello everyone,

I am looking to get a custom sword made of the XIIIA variety, and I was wondering if someonecould give me some information and measurements for the largest sword you have found of this type. I want my sword to bv the largest it can be while still being historically accurate. I had read somewhere that the largest someone had found was a type XIIIA with a grip length of 10 inchest and a blade length of 40 inches. Is this corrrect? Also, which type of guard would have been the most common/fuctional for this sword and what type of variations for this sword's guard have you seen? I was thinking of getting a type 6 guard, but I read the bow tie (I think that is the one Albion uses for the Duke) was the most common.

Pictures would be great, so the person making it for me would have something to reference. Thank you for your help!

If my memory serves me right, that spotlight article does mention the biggest XIIIa example known to date. Chek it.
