I hope this is the correct forum for this. I received an email from Christian today telling me that my commission was completed. I am including a couple of pics that he sent me today. Now the wait for it to be delivered. :cool:
Now the next thing I have to do is figure out what I want for my next sword. This does get into the blood doesn't it. I am just not sure if I want to go production or full out custom next. My wife shakes her head and thinks I am crazy of course. :eek: But that is a story for another time. That and figure out what I want. Kind of important I know.

I really like that, can you tell us what blade you used from AT? I bet you can't wait until its in your hands!

I knew I forgot something Mike. It is a 1423 XIIIa. I defintely am looking forward to receiving this beast.

Yes it is Tom. Christian says that he etched around the design leaving it raised. Christian suggested it to add a Celtic flavor to it.

That is a very fine sword you have there. Celtic knotwork on a cruisform longsword? Most unusual, but I like it.

Thank you George, It would have looked even more unusual if it had ended up 100% as I had asked for it. My original concept was for an Irish ring hilt. Unfortunately Christian said it would throw the balance off unless the ring was really big so as an alternative he suggested this to give it an Irish feel. I am very happy with the look of it and cannot wait to post a first hand review of it.

Joel,
Thank you. I was hoping it would when I ordered it. It does help that green is my favorite color and the color most associated with Ireland.

Rob,
For that I have Christian to thank as I said. He suggested it and I figured I would see what he came up with. I love it and my wife thinks it looks really good as well. Which might make it easier to get another soon I hope! :D

Well FEDEX stopped by the house today. With a rifle case? :eek: Freaked my neighbor out. Told her it was a new titanium golf club. :cool: All I can say is that this thing is a beast! It feels great though with the limited number of swings I have taken with it. I will post up pictures as soon as the good digital camera is back home. I also cannot wait to get in some cutting with this thing as it is shaving sharp out of the box. Trust me on that, my left arm looks funny right now. :lol: I am looking at getting my next sword already. My wife is also thinking about getting one. Something quite a bit smaller as she is only about 18" taller than the 1423.

Congrats on a really lovely sword.....it makes me look forward to the day when I can get one custom made for myself.
And that'd be great if your wife got into sword collecting, lol. I think its great if couples can do it together. As I've said before, my husband will never need to worry about me not understanding his sword obsession, since mine will probably rival his. Ah....who needs money anyway? ;)

Thank you Shamsi. The way I figure is that a sword is going to be less than a ring or some other jewelry knowing my wife's tastes. You are right though, who needs money.

It IS a beautiful sword and looks like it will be an impressive cutter, congratulations! Congratulations also on the good fortune of having a mate who enjoys this particular hobby. My Fiance was a good sport and was my partner at a recent WMA event and I really enjoyed it.
