Vladimir Cervenka Type 1 Schiavona
I purchased this schiavona this last year but my collecting hobby and this Web site are having a difficult time both occupying space in my life. As such, I'm putting this piece on the chopping block.
Original: Typically Venetian, Circa 1750
Vladmir Cervenka has a waiting list of 1 1/2 - 2 years now, but this piece is already made and ready. Sharp blade. Hand-forged all the way. Thumb-ring. Leather grip with spiral wire-wrap. Brass cat's head pommel. "Gracia" inscribed on on the blade.
Weight: 2 pounds, 12 ounces
Overall length: 40 inches
Blade length: 33 3/4 inches
Blade width: 1 1/2 inches at base, tapering to 1/2 inches
Ricasso width: 1 7/8 inches
Grip length: 4 1/8 inches
Basket opening width: 5 inches
Guard width: 5 inches
Point of Balance: 3 1/4 inches from guard
Center of Percussion: ~21 1/2 inches from guard
I bought this piece from Art Elwell for $800 and am asking the same as what I paid. The piece is in like-new condition with the exception of me making the hilt a more even satin finish. This was the result of a couple hours of hand-work to get the finish to where I wanted it.
ASKING PRICE: $800 + Shipping
