This listing is marked SOLD and is no longer available
The classic guide to the history, use, and construction of leather goods in arms and armour, this book includes armour, shields, helmets, gloves, scabbards, archery equipment, footwear, saddlery, and more.
Book condition is very good: pages clean, tight, and bright. Cover bright with minor marks, creases, and bumps to corners.
Published in 1981 by The Museum of Leathercraft; 180 large pages; paperback; photographs throughout.
The below images give just a taste of the breadth of this landmark study.
I'm selling this copy for US$75, plus postage method of your choice to anywhere in the world. The book is in Australia; indicative postage costs to the USA are $19.90 for Sea Mail and $29.70 for Air Mail. Faster methods are available if you wish.
The only copy of this book on ABE at the moment (in hardback) is listed for $162 - this is a rare one that doesn't come up all that often.
Note that this is not 'just a book on leather armour', but on all aspects of the relationship of the production, crafting, and use of leather as it related to warriors across different times and cultures.
