Vince Evans Milestone

Original: c.1100-1150, British Museum

An example of a 12th century knightly sword of Oakeshott Type X. This sword, as made by Vince Evans, is based on an original found in the River Witham and now housed in the British Museum. The blade is forged and mounted with steel furniture. The grip is fashioned from burl walnut and fitted with nickel silver ferrules. The scabbard features a wooden core covered with moroccon leather and fitted with a nickel silver chape and locket.
