Arms & Armor Cavalier Rapier

Original: c.1620, Sulgrave Manor Collection

The Cavalier features hot chemically-blued furniture and is very cleanly done in an octagonal cross-section. The pommel is plum-shaped and faceted with quillons terminating in finials of similar shape. The wire-bound grip is done in a helical shape that was very popular during the period. A thumb ring is fitted on the back side along with counter-guards.
