Museum Replicas Limited Trollsbane Axe
Original: Fantasy, loosely based upon 9-10th century examples
This fantasy piece is loosely based on Nordic Skeggox. The Nordic or "Viking" skeggox or bearded axe had a profile shape where the lower edge of the axe blade projected downward in a "beard" shape. In this piece, that effect is greatly exaggerated, extending the lower curve of the blade well beyond that found in period examples.
The axe is made with a very tough spring steel and ash haft. Despite fantasy appearances, this is a very well-made and functional axe.
