This item was found in an antique store, and the owner has very little information about it. Owner was told that the piece dates from the late 19th century, but even that information is open to question. The blade curve and hilt clearly identify it as a jambiya, but the nationality, region, and date are unknown.

The knife features a wooden hilt and scabbard covered with highly decorated sheet silver and accented by twisted silver wire. The slightly diamond section blade has an Arabic inscription incised into the steel.

Blade: 8" long; .875" wide tapering to .2"
Hilt length: 4.875"
